Liner Notes:
A sonnet.
Headline: Mod Ray Harryhausen Drinks Potions
Three-quarter guitar with top string missing
trying but failing at a hip hop beat
it comes down to a lick and some lyrics
penned on the fly, a fly ball and a wife
in a picture, pitchers of marga-
ritas in Mexico, cool running from
Calypso in the Ithacan heat, it’s
mete ye measured and measures ye will meet
Velveteen dolls chased by one-eyed Willies
Across the carpet of Isaiah’s den
here’s my lazy sonnet for a happy
tune, one you’ll probably sing along to
Woo-ooh, wah-ooh, waoo, wahoo, wahue
Woo-ooh, wah-ooh, waoo, wahoo, wahue

Biography:
ABOUT THE CHILDREN
Isaiah Seret: Director
Isaiah recieved an ‘U’ in English, not because of his poor reading comprehension, but the alarming amount of misspellings in his homework assignments. His stated ambition to rewrite the English dictionary according to his random spelling style is charming, if impossible. I’d like to set up a meeting.
Ms. Sanchez,
EJ Martinez Elementary School
Jessie Klein: Editor
Jesse’s favorite class is Art, and in particular book-making. Her stories generally follow a similar theme. To summarize: A wild boar jumps through the second story window of a little girl’s house, and snatches her dad, carrying him back through the window and into the deep forest. Have you noticed any signs of separation anxiety? We should discuss.
Mrs. Naylor,
East Montpelier Elementary
Richter D. Parkes: Guitar, Sing
Richter is naturally gifted as an artist, yet he seems incapable of abandoning his borderline morose dedication to morally loaded themes “a la de Kooning,” he explains. His stringent iconoclasm has isolated him from his peers, who view his neck tie-as-belt uniform deconstruction and errant rambling observations of the surreal in show-and-tell passé and boring. This, and his lunches almost always consist of rice tapioca and cookies–unhealthy! Let’s talk.
Mr. Deblasio,
St. Simon’s Academy
Bennett Barbakow: Tambourine, Sing
Bennett is a fine student who cares for his classmates. However, during the naptime and sustainted-silent-reading periods I’ve caught him and Marcus Rappaport repeatedly pinching Portia Rowland. Bennett’s explanation that he pinches Portia because she has “ugly disease” is offensive and unacceptable. He must correct this severe personality defect.
